Why gyroscope spins reversely just before it stops?

i got a gyroscope,( just like that one in INCEPTION,) i spin it, after it just falls down for a short time, it spins reversely till it stops, who can give an explanation for it, i think it should be always the same direction, as the work done by friction and air resistance it should just spin slower and slower, then finally falls down, but its not
