From a Greek perspective, NO, Northern Cyprus is not safe because it is occupied by Turks. 97% of Greeks (totaled in Greece and Cyprus) are Orthodox, a Christian religion. Turks are usually Muslim, so if you are a Christian, avoid Northern Cyprus. Greeks live in Southern Cyprus.
