u want a style that is effective but don't wana get beaten up in cl? i really think any style will have some kinda contact in which u will know what it feels like to get punched,kicked r choked till u tap. muay thai is very effective,u get a lot of bag time and u spar when your ready with safety gear.i think its a must to go thru some serious sparring,even a little so u know how to react and how your body reacts to these blows.u get into great shape, especially cardio.good luck hope this helped.
